ARCHIES 1 MILLION TARGET AUDIENCE REFERAL

The following is a case study of an online gift store, The Archies Online. Archiesonline drew AWE-INSPIRING benefits from the REFIRAL run Customer Referral Program to increase its sales and the target audiences.

Referral program works to increase the website visibility to the potential customers. To be able to achieve its target efficiently, it needs to be visible to the website visitors in an effortless manner. Archies Online took pains to incorporate a Referral Program pop up on their homepage itself.

Much before the customer even moved towards selecting a product from the vast catalogue and decided to make a purchase, the “SHARE TO SAVE!!” pop up on the extreme right of the Archies Homepage worked magic to drive customers to the store.



Finding a way to save on their shopping at the online store, prior to having decided what to shop for increased the want to purchase from Archies Online without having to wander across multiple online gifting stores. The beforehand knowledge of huge discounts to the customers gave Archies Online an edge over its contemporaries.

INCENTIVES OF REFERRAL PROGRAM:

Sharing with friends rewarded a 15% percent instant discount on purchase from Archies Online.



Friends making purchase from Archiesonline got a 20% discount.



Simultaneously, the referrer received an overwhelming discount of 25% when friends who were referred to, made their purchase. Refiral Provides 3 sharing platform to Archies Online named Facebook , Twitter , Gmail.

RESULTS:

1 million target audiences were reached through the customer referral program in a short span of 10 months.

Customer acquisition cost was reduced to a great extent.

INFERENCE:

Visitors to Archies Online store knew how to save and the amount they could save right from the start, much before they exactly knew what product they were go in to save on.

Customers needs to omitted Addition of a Referral widget to the homepage of Archies Online boosted the visibility of the store and helped creating 1 million audiences in only 10 Months.

Referral invites improved visibility of the store, increased the sales and saved tons of money for Archies that would otherwise have gone into marketing of the store

WHAT THEY DON'T TEACH YOU AT IIM'S

I had the opportunity to visit one of the IIM campuses last month. I asked the first year pgp students how much of digital marketing was being taught in their Marketing program.  I noticed my question made them a tad uncomfortable.
